The Vision and
Sensory Center
is dedicated to providing thorough evaluations and therapy in a professional and supportive environment. The VSC strives to help each person coordinate the visual system with the body so that it may operate at its most efficient potential. We believe that every person is unique and that vision therapy should be designed around the individual’s needs. To provide the best possible care, our staff has been carefully selected to contribute a variety of professional experience. The VSC staff is committed to continuing their education and staying informed of current research and advances in the medical community. Our goal is to help people understand that there is a difference between seeing clearly and having good vision. You may be 20/20 in both eyes - passing a basic eye exam - but still have poor vision. Quality vision is much more than clear eyesight, it is how well you put meaning to what you see. Vision is hands extended. In other words, when it is working well we don't have to touch, taste, smell, or hear to understand what things are. Having good vision provides us with the ability to effeciently manipulate and move in the space around us. Finally, good vision helps us remember what we have seen. It predicts what our movements can produce (the possible future). Most of us think in terms of pictures and use the visual process constantly throughout the day, but there are many who do not have this ability. Those who are able to process visual information quickly and thouroughly have the best chance for success in this image driven world.
