Cara - Age 14

Visual Therapy has done many things for me. One of those things is my eyesight. My eyesight has gotten one-hundred times better! I can see farther and measure things with a ruler. My accuracy on a ruler is one- hundred percent. Another thing is my self-esteem. I feel alot better. I used to think that I was dumb, stupid, and retarded all because of my vision. Now I have the courage to get up in front of the classroom and read my reports and not fumble over the words that were written on the piece of paper in front of me. Nobody laughs at my reading anymore. The third item is my confidence. I am more confident in myself to participate in more sports.

Thanks to Dr. Hohendorf, Joanne, and his wonderful staff for helping me achieve my goals with my eyesight. I now have the best eyesight to achieve anything!

Kyle - Age 8

Kyle could not focus both eyes on one object. Therefore he had a very short attention span. After a few months in therapy, even his teacher commented on how he was able to complete his tasks. He is now able to read for longer periods of time. Kyle is able to concentrate for longer periods of time as well.

Jordan - Age 9

Jordan had trouble focusing on the task at hand. He had a tendency to daydream. Visual therapy has given him the tools and tricks he has needed to stay on task. Jordan is now paying attention in class. He has also started reading on his own...and loves it!

Aaron - Age 21

Most importantly, Aaron seems closer to being able to attain his driver's license. Other changes are subtle, but prior to therapy sessions he could not back the car out of the driveway, and now he can!

Nate - Age 8

Nates reading and comprehension and improved through visual therapy. He has learned to use both eyes while reading, versus tilting his head and using only one eye. Nate does not have the eyestrain and headaches he had before therapy. I also feel his behavior in school has greatly improved. Before therapy, he could not follow any of the reading assignments, so he would just not pay attention and find other things to do to pass the time. Nate really enjoyed working with Becky - she is great and very patient. Thank You!!!

Scott - Age 6

I was a basic garden variety optometrist who never even considered specializing in visual therapy until my kindergartner showed signs of learning-related vision problems. Through the course of Dr. Hohendorf's VTII program, I saw first hand many significant improvements in my son's oculomotor coordination, eye-hand coordination, self confidence, and behavior. Thanks to Dr. Hohendorf and his wonderful vision therapist Becky, I am devoting the rest of my career to learning how to better diagnose, treat and prevent learning-related vision problems in children.

Daniel - Age 11

Visual therapy has helped Daniel and I both considerably. I personally did not know how to help Daniels condition. I never even suspected he had a vision impairment. It was so amazing to uncover his diagnosis and pinpoint treatment. Daniel and I are both very grateful to God for the visual therapy program and how he has benefited from the exercises and weekly homework. Daniel has worked hard each week completing assignments. I am very proud of all his hard work and we are seeing the fruit of all his effort. Thank You!

Nat - Age 10

Nat was in the 4th grade when we discovered her vision difficulties. Her challenges with school work were numerous. Concentration, copying from the chalkboard, handwriting, skipping words and lines with reading, and math concepts were all very difficult for her. The amount of time it took to accomplish these tasks was great. The best way to describe her was unfocused and scattered. Even though she could read, I would never find Nat engrossed in reading a chapter book. However, after eight months of visual therapy (which entailed 20 min. of homework a day, five days a week, and a 1hr appointment with a therapist per week) Nat has made many changes. Within the first eight weeks of therapy, Nat was picking up a pencil more often to write. Her handwriting was neater. When she read orally, her reading was smoother. Her confidence in herself became more positive. half way through therapy, Nat was reading more often and for longer periods of time - on her own initiative. Instead of the chapter books being on the floor - it is now in her hands for 45 to 60 minutes at a time. she has gained confidence in herself and her abilities. I would recommend visual therapy for anyone whom has vision needs.

Mike - Age 9

I have noticed in the past year Mike's increased accomplishments in reading. He has become a smoother reader. Mike has also improved his spelling skills and athletic abilities. I think all in all visual therapy has given Mike the confidence he needed to read.

Eilish - Age 7

Major improvement in our lives -- visual therapy has impacted Eilish's life in a very positive way. She had double vision most of the time prior to therapy, it rarely occurs now. She seems less clumsy, but the most dramatic improvement is her ability to understand and comprehend directions. Quite frankly, she seems to have less confusion in her daily life, which leads to less frustration and an overall better attitude and happier person! We would do it all over again for these results!

Tony - Age 8

Tony was really struggling with reading and writing before therapy. he would become very frustrated when trying to read. Since visual therapy, he has shown improvement in spelling, handwriting, math, and reading. He actually reads on his own and is even comprehending what he reads! He is very excited about being a better reader and reads fro fun both on his own and to his brothers. He is more confidant in everything he does. Tony is a much happier child in general. Thank You!
