ADD and ADHD

Vision problems are commonly misdiagnosed as ADD/ADHD. This person struggles to maintain visual attention for a given period of time and therefore may result in physically touching and exploring new spaces and/or experiencing periods of "daydreaming" or inattentiveness. This person explores the world with their hands rather than their eyes. Vision therapy can help by teaching them to maintain and direct their visual attention for sustained periods of time. Once they understand how to use their vision effectively it is no longer necessary to explore the world with their hands because they can "touch" everything with their eyes.
